Overview - Techtime to iCal
The following method will allow you to sync Techtime to iCal (on Mac).
1. OS X 10.4.x (tested) (one-way sync) using Oracle Calendar 10.1.x to iCal. 1. Requirements: Oracle Calendar 10.1.x (for Mac OSX), iCal (standard on OSX), and iTunes. 2. How it works: 1. Download and install Oracle Calendar 10.1.x on your desktop/laptop computer from the URL below: http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/cs/htdocs/clientsoft.html (Accept the license agreement, then proceed to download Oracle Calendar desktop client for Mac OS X) • Oracle Calendar 10.1.x requires Kerberos Extras to be installed beforehand, download URL below (certificate required): http://web.mit.edu.ezproxy.canberra.edu.au/software/mac.html
2. Launch Oracle Calendar 10.1.x and login window will open. Press Sign-in.
3. Once the Oracle Calendar has open, click on File, then Export Data. 4. A window will appear with export formats, pick iCalendar File, and press Ok.
5. Choose the date range that you would like to Export, and press Ok.
6. Choose the location that you would like to export the iCalendar file to, Desktop is convenient.
7. Once the export has completed, open iCal.
8. Once iCal has opened, click on File, and then Import.
9. Choose "Import an iCal file" and click Import.
10. Choose the file "Name.ics" and click Import.
11. An Add Events window will appear asking where you want to place the new events your importing. If you have a previous calendar setup and want to keep the new events separate, choose New Calendar. If you want to merge the new events into previous calendar or of unused calendar, choose Home.
12. Your Techtime events should now appear in your iCal calendar.
2. Now that your Techtime events are in you iCal, choosing sync iCal in iTunes, will sync the events onto the iPhone.
1. Choose either Sync All Calendars, or Selected Calendars.
After your next iPhone sync, the events will appear on the iPhone Calendar. Remember this is a one-way sync down from Techtime down to iCal. At this point there isn't a reverse method.
