RideShare is a web-based application and can be run from any web browser (Firefox or Chrome, suggested). The RideShare prototype can be found at \[url\]. |
Please attempt to complete the following tasks when you are testing the website:
- Find all rides to the airport.
- Look for a ride to Logan Airport from MIT on May 17th at 6 AM.
- There are no matches; post a new ride listing advertising a taxi ride from MIT to Logan on May 17th at 6 AM.
- Invite some friends over e-mail to share the ride with you.
Incomplete Features
Login
- For now, users will not need to be logged in to use RideShare. Login is not fully implemented for this prototype.
Search
- The search panel currently only supports filtering by the "travel" category, although other values may be entered.
Ride Posting
- When a user submits a ride to be posted, it will result in a canned response. The entered information will not be saved to the database.
- Rides cannot be deleted.
Sharing a Ride
- Sharing a ride is also canned. The auto-generated message text is currently the same for each ride. E-mail isn't implemented; no message will actually be sent.
- The "Message Poster" button doesn't do anything yet.
