Step One: Set Meeting Dates

Grading

The Grading section determines how the overall attendance grade will be calculated. This calculation will appear in the Category Table in Student Details.

(warning) Note: You must click "Create Meetings" to save changes in this section. It is recommended that this section be configured at the same time as the meeting dates above.

Add Exceptions

Add Exceptions can be used both to exclude certain meeting dates due to holidays or cancellations, or to add additional meeting dates beyond those you set up in Set Meeting Dates.

Step Two: Grading

  1. Select attendance grading options:
    1. Grade Based Upon- select how attendance grades are calculated.
      1. Percent - based on the percentage of meetings attended.
      2. Count - based on how many meetings attended.
    2. Passing Threshold - to pass, students must attend the percent or number of meetings entered depending on (A).
    3. Dropped Threshold - students will be considered to have dropped the class if they have attended fewer than the percent or number of meetings entered depending on (A).

Adding and Canceling Meeting Dates

You can add or cancel specific meeting dates. These additions or cancellations are called exceptions. Exceptions can be useful if a meeting occurs on an institute holiday or if you need to schedule a make-up date, for example.

To add an exception:

  1. Fill in the exception fields:
    1. Date - the date of the exception.
    2. Reason for Exception - the reason for the exception, e.g. make-up meeting, Memorial Day, etc.
    3. Type - the type of exception:
      1. Cancel Class - the meeting on the specified date (Awill be removed.
      2. Add Class - a meeting will be created on the specified date (A).
