Jobs Coordinator
Tech Squares Monthly Job

Description
Responsible for recruiting volunteers for all the weekly jobs for a given month and sending out email reminders to the volunteers.

When
Recruit volunteers at least a week before the job needs to be done. Send out weekly reminders on Monday evenings (more info below).

What you need
    • Monthly jobs sign-up sheet  (http://www.mit.edu.ezproxy.canberra.edu.au/~tech-squares/howto/signup-jobs.txt)
    • Knowledge of what time each job needs to be done, ability to train volunteers who haven't done their job before OR ask someone else to train them.
    • On the rare occasion that the cuer does not plan to bring equipment, the club equipment needs to be brought down and set up.  Ask an officer when this is necessary and how to do it.

Responsibilities
    • Set up the monthly jobs sign-up sheet
Fill in the dates and cross out weeks we don’t need (week 5 if the month only has 4 Tuesdays, and any weeks we’re not meeting). Remember to write in your name and e-mail address at the top.
    • Get people to sign up for jobs
Sign up at least one person for each job; at least two people are necessary for breakdown, and there should be two people for gate during subscription season (ask the treasurer for specific dates). When someone agrees to do a job, write down their name and email address, and suggest that they put it in their calendar.
    • When there is a Saturday dance, it's the monthly Jobs Coordinator's responsibility to find someone to coordinate jobs for the dance.  Ask an officer for the upcoming Saturday dance schedule. It is not your job to coordinate volunteers for the dance, unless you want to.
    • Make sure each Setup person has a locker key and either has a card with access to the Student Activities Office or knows whom they can ask to borrow one.  There should be a dedicated setup key (separate from the briefcase key, which is for the breakdown crew), but often officers and others have locker keys that the setup person can borrow.
    • Send email reminders each Monday
Each week, send a reminder to the volunteers, and cc tech-squares-officers at mit dot edu.  The reminder email should include a list of who's signed up to do each job, and where the club is meeting that week.
If a job slot is unfilled, or if someone who'd volunteered can't do their job, don't hesitate to call on the officers' list for help.
    • Find someone to be Jobs Coordinator for next month

Thanks for taking care of this critical job!
