Initiate -- getting started, documenting initial project scope, assigning a project manager, identifying project stakeholders
Prepare -- planning the work, developing a detailed project scope and timeline, implementing a change management process, identifying resource needs and securing them, risk planning, laying out a communication plan
Execute & Control -- working the plan, gathering detailed requirements, designing the solution, developing the solution, testing, training, and deployment
Close -- wrapping up, getting final sign-off from project sponsor, conducting final project review, documenting and sharing lessons learned |
Project State |
Where the project is with regard to work being done.
Note that states marked with an asterisk can not be set manually |
*Request -- project has not yet been approved
Not Started -- major work has not begun
In Progress -- project is actively being worked
On Hold -- a project that was In Progress, has now stopped but work will resume in the future
Cancelled -- a project that will no longer have any work done but that was not complete
Completed -- all planned work is finished and no further activities will take place for this project |
