MoneyManager - GR4

Specs and How to Download:

MoneyManager is an Android app designed for Android platform 2.3.3.  You can download the app file MoneyManager.apk at http://web.mit.edu.ezproxy.canberra.edu.au/lubini/Public/.  To run the app on your phone, simply download it (first making sure that your phone will let you download third-party apps) and run!

Shallow Areas of MoneyManager:

There are a number of parts of MoneyManager that will simply not work no matter how hard you try to press the button.  Much of the data for MoneyManager is canned: the app will not track your input into fields, but will respond to button presses with canned information input into displays and appropriate screen transitions.  Additionally, viewing a shared budget simulates what it would look like (a different user’s name at the top of the screen, de-activated expense) but does not actually change the canned information shown.  One of the particular areas in which this prototype is weak is the navigation in the second level of tabs, which is still something we are having difficulty implementing - this means that the buttons on the homepage take the user to whatever second view level window was last opened, rather than the desired one.  Fixing this is a priority for us in our final implementation.

  1. Overall this seems to be very well put together for a prototype.  I tried to ignore the canned data and hopefully that didn’t play too much at all into my analysis.

Good luck with the rest of the semester!
