Advantages of using wikis over regular wesites:

  • Wikis are simple to edit:
Each page in a wiki has an 'Edit' link. If you want to change something on the page, just click on this link and the wiki will display a simple editing screen. After you are done making the necessary changes, submit using a button, and your changes immediately show up on the website.
  • Wikis will record document histories:
Wikis are able to save old copies of edited pages, making it possible for any individual to see the changes which have been made to the page by various users over time.
  • Wikis make it easy to upload material:
It is very easy to upload material (assignments, evaluation techniques, papers, theses) onto any page on a wiki site. This is made particularly easy on our wiki site; all you need to do is click on the blue 'Attachments' link in the top left-hand corner.
