Except for the first couple class and the last one, most weeks are about the same.

Before:

  • Email the class list with the weekly email, including schedule & location, link to lesson page, and (often) a brainteaser (see Class Quizzes/Brainteasers). If there are complications, like a club meeting, warn them about that. Also mention any upcoming events like class level dances they should be aware of.
  • Print a copy of attendance.
  • Pick a topic for class meeting.

During:

Beginning of the night & Walkthrus:
  • Get the badge box from the locker - it should have badges and pens and sharpies.
  • Get handouts from the locker- definitions for the current week and past week or two, the overall call list, and perhaps formations.
  • Put handouts out on the table for walkthrus. (It's also nice after the first few weeks to give the students a call list so they can check off what they want reviewed.)
  • Give out badges at walkthrus (or set them out on a table).
  • Take attendance at walkthrus.
  • Make sure there are enough angels to fill out the walkthru squares.
  • Try to keep Bill on schedule.
During tips
  • At the start of the first tip give badges to people who didn't go to walkthrus.
  • Take attendance during the class
  • Make sure class get into every tip and balance squares as needed.
  • While dancing or watching, keep an eye out for dancers who are struggling.

  • During the first class tip, keep an eye out for class members showing up a couple minutes late and get them in
  • Rebalance squares as needed
Class Meeting
  • Run class meeting (see Class Meeting Content for ideas of what to talk about)
  • Offer handouts at  class meeting.
 End of the night
  • Collect badges at the end.
  • Put away leftover handouts & the badge box.

After:

  • Fill in the attendance sheet online.
  • Do mailing list maintenance for anyone who has missed too much.
  • No labels
