Communication Forum Story:
- Patsy nominated the Communication Forum to the DOME Selector's Group (now part of CMG). Patsy completed the template form.
- Met with Beverly to review project.
- Project page was created on the wiki
- Beverly with Christine Moulen's assistance created a report from BRIO of the Barton records for Communication Forum transcripts held in Dewey Library.
- Beverly and Patsy went to manually cross check the holdings in Dewey with the BRIO report to identify any missing transcripts.
- 10-15 reports were missing and Patsy identified them in the Archives' holdings.
- Ann Marie (PS) went to review the collection in Dewey.
- Beverly sent Bob Kehner the "picklist" created from the BRIO report. Bob then arranged for the items to be pulled by a student and sent to Preservation Services by interdepartmental delivery.
- Meanwhile Beverly met with Jenn (DS) to discuss the digitization of the 145 transcripts.
- Jenn requested the items from Archives to use as test documents for their workflow.
- PS reviewed the items per their workflow (see Ann Marie's document)
- PS sent to DS with the picklist
- DS scanned, OCRed, and named the transcripts. The file names used the OCLC numbers from Barton.
- DS saved the pdfs to COMSTOCK and Jenn moved the files to DSpace Images folder on the RDrive
- Selina met with Carl on the Barton to DOME crosswalk using an old crosswalk of Barton to DSpace used for the theses created by Christine Moulen.
- Selina and Rob revised the crosswalk (see Metadata wiki for notes) and applied creating XML files for Carl
- Sean created a test page in DOME test for the community
- Carl loaded items to test in DOME test
- Selina, Rob, Patsy, Carl, and Sean reviewed the records
- Sean created a community in DOME production
- Patsy wrote a blurb for the Community/Collection page in DOME
- Carl ingested the transcripts into DOME production
- Patsy worked with Heather Denny to create a postcard to announce the collection to the Spring Communication Forum attendees
- Patsy created a delicious page for subject tagging
- The handles now need to be added to the Barton records.
